Pemberton Swift is an executive search consulting firm specializing in financial services, healthcare, legal and human resources, technology, corporate, sales and marketing. Our mission is to aid the success of New England companies and organizations by filling open positions with skilled, highly qualified professionals found nationwide.
History
Ted Pemberton founded Pemberton & Associates in 1994 after twenty-two years as head of human resources for a major financial institution. The company’s original focus was to become a total human resource solutions provider specializing in employee relations, compensation, training and recruiting. Having several experienced human resource professionals from the “inside” who could relate to the unique challenges facing corporate HR managers proved advantageous, and in 1996 Pemberton & Associates expanded to include an executive search service for financial, corporate management and technology positions.
In 2000 Pemberton & Associates reassessed its mission, strengths and weaknesses. Executive search services were identified as the company’s “core competency,” and as a result other service offerings were scaled back to further strengthen our specialty. The immediate benefits realized enabled the company to add a Healthcare search component in 2002, and within five years Pemberton & Associates’ customer base equaled that of the original financial, corporate and technology group.
At the end of 2007 the company acquired Swift & Associates, a long-standing Portland, Maine, executive search firm focusing on legal, marketing and not-for-profit management. Together as Pemberton Swift, we today have a team of seasoned recruiters who effectively utilize their research and proactive contact skills to tap into a national candidate pool—all to the benefit of our diverse clientele located primarily in New England.
